My husband and I relocated to the area in 1986 from the Northeast and careers in education and the aerospace industry.  We were in search of a milder climate, lower taxes, less traffic and affordable waterfront.  New Bern offered it all and more.  It has history, charm, year round boating, golf, excellent medical facilities and an airport for convenience to visit family.
